Ingredients

🫒 2 tablespoons olive oil

🧈 2 tablespoons butter

🧄 4 cloves garlic, minced (adjust to taste)

🧅 1/4 to 1/2 red onion, finely chopped

🥛 1 cup half & half (or half milk, half heavy cream)

🧀 3 tablespoons cream cheese

🍶 3 tablespoons sour cream

🌿 Spinach (use frozen for convenience)

🦀 Crab meat (claw or lump preferred, quantity to taste)

🧂 Season to taste (salt, pepper, etc.)

🧀 Italian cheese blend (sharp, mozzarella, Colby, Parmesan, adjust to taste)

🌾 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour


Instructions

1- Prep the Ingredients:

  • Thaw the frozen spinach, drain excess water, and set aside.

  • Mince the garlic and finely chop the onion.

2- Start the Base:

  • Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the butter and olive oil. Allow them to melt and mix together, avoiding overheating.

3- Sauté:

  • Add the minced garlic and chopped onion to the pan. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic releases its aroma.

4- Thicken the Mixture:

  • Stir in the flour, mixing it thoroughly with the butter and oil to form a roux. Cook for about 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.

5- Create the Creamy Sauce:

  • Gradually add the half & half while stirring to avoid lumps. Let it simmer and thicken slightly.

6- Add Cheese and Creams:

  • Incorporate the cream cheese and sour cream into the mixture. Stir until well combined and smooth.

7- Combine Spinach and Crab:

  • Add the prepared spinach to the creamy mixture. Stir in the crab meat, allowing the flavors to meld together.

8- Cheesy Goodness:

  • Mix in your choice of cheeses, ensuring at least mozzarella and Parmesan are included. Let the cheese melt into the sauce.

9- Season and Finish:

  • Taste and season with salt, pepper, and any additional spices as desired. Ensure everything is well mixed and heated through.

10- Bake:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture into an oven-safe dish and bake for 12 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.

11- Serve:
