Ingredients
🐟 4 salmon fillets
🌶️ 2 tablespoons jerk sauce
🧂 1 tablespoon jerk seasoning
🍯 2 tablespoons honey
🧄 1 teaspoon garlic powder
🧅 1 teaspoon onion powder
💧 1/4 cup water to loosen the sauce
Instructions
1- Prep the Salmon:
- Begin by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides of the fillets lightly with salt and pepper if desired.
2- Make the Jerk Glaze:
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the jerk sauce, jerk seasoning, honey, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Add water gradually to achieve a smooth consistency that coats the back of a spoon.
3- Apply the Glaze:
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or on a baking tray lined with foil for easy cleanup.
- Generously brush the glaze over the top of each fillet, making sure they're well-covered.
4- Marinate (Optional):
- For enhanced flavor, let the salmon marinate in the glaze for about 15-30 minutes.
5- Cook the Salmon:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- If using a grill, preheat it to medium heat.
6- Bake or Grill:
- Baking method: Place the salmon in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Grill method: Place the salmon on the grill, skin side down if it has skin. Cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side until the salmon is fully cooked and has a beautiful char.
7- Serve:
- Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven or grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with fresh herbs or a slice of lime if desired.
