Discover the vibrant taste of the Caribbean with these super quick, easy, and utterly delicious jerk BBQ wings. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a weekend gathering, these wings deliver a punch of flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

🍗 2 lbs chicken wings
🧄 2 cloves garlic, minced
🧅 1 medium onion, chopped
🌿 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
🌶️ 1 teaspoon ground allspice
🧂 1 teaspoon salt
🥄 1 tablespoon brown sugar
🍋 Juice of 1 lime
🍯 2 tablespoons honey
🍚 2 tablespoons soy sauce
🌶️ 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
🍽️ 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
🍶 1/2 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

1- Prepare the Marinade:

  • In a bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped onion, thyme leaves, ground allspice, salt, brown sugar, lime juice, honey, soy sauce, cayenne pepper, and vegetable oil.
  • Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

2- Marinate the Wings:

  • Place the chicken wings in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  • Pour the marinade over the wings, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish and let the wings marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for best results.

3- Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

4- Bake the Wings:

  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease with oil.
  • Arrange the marinated chicken wings in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • Reserve any remaining marinade. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

5- Apply BBQ Sauce:

  • While the wings are baking, mix the reserved marinade with the BBQ sauce.
  • After 20-25 minutes of baking, brush the wings with the BBQ sauce mixture.
  • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the wings are cooked through and caramelized.

6- Serve:

  • Once cooked, let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve hot, garnished with lime wedges or chopped fresh herbs for an extra touch.
