These air-fried Old Bay honey hot wings are a perfect combination of crispy, spicy, and sweet. They're easy to make at home and ideal for game day, parties, or just a delectable treat for yourself! Using an air fryer means less mess and healthier wings without sacrificing the crunch you love.
Ingredients
๐ 2 pounds chicken wings
๐ฟ 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
๐ซ 1 tablespoon olive oil
๐ฏ 1/4 cup honey
๐ถ๏ธ 2 tablespoons hot sauce (adjust to your preference)
๐ง 1 tablespoon butter
๐ง 1 clove garlic, minced
๐ 1 tablespoon lemon juice
๐ง Salt to taste
๐ซ Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1- Prep the Wings:
- Start by patting the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This will help them get crispy in the air fryer.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
2- Air Fry the Wings:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC).
- Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they arenโt too crowded (work in batches if necessary).
- Cook the wings for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
3- Prepare the Sauce:
- While the wings are cooking, prepare your honey hot sauce. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice.
- Stir until the butter is melted and all ingredients are well combined. Remove from heat.
4- Combine and Finish:
- Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a bowl. Pour the honey hot sauce over the wings and toss to coat them evenly.
- Return the coated wings to the air fryer for an additional 3-5 minutes to allow the sauce to glaze and caramelize slightly.
5- Serve:
- Serve the wings hot, garnished with additional Old Bay seasoning if desired. These wings pair wonderfully with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing.
