Ingredients

🍝 400g spaghetti noodles
🌭 200g fresh Italian hot sausage (sliced)
🥩 300g ground beef
🧅 1 yellow onion (chopped)
🫑 1 red bell pepper (chopped)
🫒 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
🧄 3 cloves garlic (minced)
🍅 1 jar (700g) ‘Fra Diavolo’ Marinara Sauce
🍃 2 bay leaves
🧂 Salt and pepper to taste
🧄 1 teaspoon garlic powder
🌿 1 teaspoon dried oregano
🌿 1 teaspoon dried basil
🌶️ 1/2 teaspoon paprika
🌿 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)

For the Ricotta Mixture:

🧀 1 cup ricotta cheese
🧀 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
🧄 1 clove garlic (minced)
🌿 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
🧂 Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

1- Prepare the Spaghetti:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti noodles and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2- Cook the Sausage and Vegetables:

  • In a large cast-iron pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned on both sides. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

3- Cook the Ground Beef:

  • Return the sausage to the pan, add half of the chopped parsley, and set the mixture aside.

4- Prepare the Tomato Sauce:

  • Pour in the marinara sauce, add bay leaves, and season with oregano and garlic powder. Stir and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes on low heat.

5- Combine and Simmer:

  • Add the meat and vegetable mixture to the tomato sauce. Stir to combine and let simmer for another 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

6- Prepare the Ricotta Mixture:

  • In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, minced garlic, fresh parsley, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

7- Serve:

  • Plate the spaghetti noodles and top with the rich meat sauce. Add a generous scoop of the ricotta-cheese mixture on top. Garnish with fresh parsley for a final touch.
